ROCORI students are assessed throughout the year using a variety of tests to measure their growth and achievement. Through the use of these formative and summative assessments, our teachers and staff make instructional decisions that benefit ALL learners.
ROCORI Public Schools provides services for many students who speak a primary language other than English in their home.
The Literacy Plan for ROCORI Public Schools is being presented as a part of a comprehensive system of accountability for the District. The Literacy Plan is for K-12 students in our schools, and to engage the community in an open, ongoing dialogue about our District and the education of our students.
Special education programming focuses on specially designed instruction that addresses children's individual needs and differences. Assessing, planning instruction, and monitoring progress is completed by a team of teachers who work with the child.
Teachers are on a three year evaluation cycle at ROCORI. Two years are off cycle where teachers select a peer to do an observation. The third year is on-cycle when an administrator does a formal evaluation. ROCORI has adopted InTASC as the model for teacher evaluations.
Tier 2 and 3 is a program for students who are not making adequate progress in the core and are identified through ROCORI's universal screeners, progress monitoring, and formative observation.
For ROCORI students to be competitive, we must have students who are college and career ready, students who are poised to lead the state’s workforce.
The Curriculum and Instruction (CI) committee is charged with managing all of the curriculum and instruction adoptions and purchases for our district. The committee is populated through representation of grade levels and departments to make sure each area of our district is represented.
The Response to Intervention (RtI) committee is charged with managing academic achievement data and using the results to help buildings meet state and national benchmarks. Each building RtI team sends 2 members to represent the building on the District RtI committee.
The Staff Development (SD) committee plans and oversees professional development opportunities in our district. This includes back to school workshops and early release days. Each building is represented on the committee.
At ROCORI, we recognizes that changes in how we receive, access, and communicate information occur rapidly in society. The technology committee was established to assist the district in using the tools of technology to accomplish the goal of providing a quality education.
