Accepting Criticism/Consequences

Steps

1. Look at the Person

2. Say "OKAY"

Teacher asking a student to put forth more effort and a student saying "okay"

3. Don't Argue

Student not arguing with the teacher

What Criticism Is Not or Should Not Be

  • Things You Cannot Change or Control
  • Mean Spirited
  • Intended to Harm or Hurt

Activity

On a sheet of paper, write down some criticisms of yourself.  Try to be objective (as if you were a person who never met you before).

Tonight when you go home, ask a friend or parent (someone you trust) about something you can do to improve an area of your life. (practice helps)

Discussion
