ROCORI Schools will be celebrating Homecoming 2018 with a number of events during the week of Monday, September 24th to Friday, September 28th. It is the intention of ROCORI Schools to encourage everyone in the ROCORI community to get involved in Homecoming and show their Spartan Pride.
Our district is committed to “making a difference today to create a better tomorrow”, and one way that we measure our growth is through state assessments. Minnesota uses the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA) and the Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State (ACCESS) tests to measure student growth and proficiency. This year is also the first year of the new North Star accountability system from the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). The North Star system measures districts and schools on:
- Academic Achievement in Reading and Math
- Progress Toward English Language Proficiency
- Academic Progress
- Graduation Rates
- Consistent Attendance
As a district, ROCORI scored above the state average on all five of the North Star indicators. Additionally, Cold Spring Elementary was recognized for scoring in the top 5 percent of the state for Progress Toward English Language Proficiency, and John Clark Elementary scored in the top 5 percent of the state for Reading Academic Progress. We are very proud of all of our students and all of our schools for their continued commitment. More information on each individual school can be found at the Minnesota Report Card.
Looking for a way to get more involved at CSE? Get involved with the CSE Host Parent Organization. There are many different levels of commitment and involvement that are right for you. Each graduating year is represented by a group of parents called “HOST PARENTS” These parents serve as sounding board and liaison to the school. They play an integral role in creating successful environment at Cold Spring Elementary.
