Patti Rice

Greetings and welcome to Patti Rice's Homepage!

I first started teaching at ROCORI in the fall of 1998.  Prior to that period, I had taught within the following school districts: Kimball, Alexandria, Houston, Texas (Aldine School District), and Phoenix (Arizona) Public Schools. I completed my undergraduate degree (B.S.) in Communications from Arizona State University (Tempe, Arizona) and later earned my Master's Degree from Saint Cloud State University (Minnesota).  I am licensed to teach 7-12 English ~ Language Arts, 7-12 Speech Communications, and K-12 Reading.  Over the course of this school year, my high school English scholars will be instructed using a variety of Minnesota's common English core standards (which will include, but are not simply limited to, reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar). Student assessments will be diverse and varied and will include both pre & post assessments as well as various writing assignments.

My interests and hobbies include reading, biking, swimming, learning the (frustrating) ins and outs of the game of golf, and spending time with my husband, son, and dog (a five pound Teacup Yorkie who is our resident prince)! I truly feel fortunate to live and work within the ROCORI Community, and I look forward to working with parents and students over the upcoming school year. As the saying goes, "it takes a village..."  I firmly believe that ALL students can be successful and that in working together, we can provide each student with the best possible education!  Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns you may have.  Together we can build a successful school year for our student(s)!
