Mark Larcom

Hello students and families!  My name is Mark Larcom, and I teach Elementary Physical Education at Cold Spring Elementary.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree from St. Cloud State University, and my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University of Winona.

I am beginning my 29th year at CSE, and have spent all my years at CSE. I did teach DAPE as well as Physical Education for most of my teaching career working with Preschool through sixth grade students. Now, I have been just teaching Physical Education to K-5 students.  I have coached, over the years, in the areas of baseball (middle school age), girl's basketball (both elementary and middle school ages) and taught swimming lessons for many years during the summers when I wasn't teaching during the school year.  I really enjoy working with students of all ages, and being around them keeps me active and young at heart.  It's pretty special to see all the grades, because I get a chance to see the kids grow from grade to grade until they leave our building to be sixth graders at the Rocori Middle School.

I have a 21 year old daughter named Bri, and a 18 year old son named Neal.  We enjoy being active through various sports, biking, and camping when we get the chance.  Some of my interests or hobbies include being outside enjoying the different seasons that Minnesota has to offer, staying active through sports/activities, doing yard work, going to concerts/plays, listening to music and doing home/auto repair.

I am looking forwards to seeing all of the students again this fall, and to re-connect once again with them to find out what's new in their lives, and to see how much they have grown or changed over the summer months.

Feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns about your son or daughter, and have a wonderful school year!

We had 93 students participate in Jump Rope For Heart by the American Heart Association. This year during February 2018 school year.  We were able to raise over $5900, and the school will receive a $300 gift card to US Games for purchasing PE/Recess equipment.  Thank you to all of the parents that allowed your son/daughter to participate, and also thank you for your generous donations.

Mr. Larcom

Please remind your child(ren) to wear tennis shoes during their physical education time with me, and his/her class is listed under my classroom schedule.  Their classroom teacher is listed with the number day rotation that corresponds to their physical education time with me.  The number days are listed on the lunch calendar for each month also.  Thanks!
