Leah Blonigen

My name is Leah Blonigen, and I teach fifth grade! I received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University before teaching first grade for two years here at CSE. This past May, I received my Master's degree from Southwest Minnesota State University! This is my sixth year at CSE, and I'm excited to continue my journey in 5th grade. I love working at a wonderful school with great students, parents, and staff!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Luke and I have been married for 4 years and have two boys, Owen (2.5 years old) and Milo (born this past April). We spend most of our time running after them, but we also love to go camping, fishing, watch movies about trucks or dinosaurs, go to the library and hang out with family and friends. Some of my hobbies include: cooking, reading, listening to podcasts, yoga, and going on walks with my boys.

Part 1: Cookie Exchange!!

Mon, 11/28/2016 - 12:38pm

It's time for another project! This time, we'll be planning a cookie/treat exchange! Ready for the best part?! We are going to have a REAL LIFE cookie/treat exchange here at school the week before winter break! We'll all work together to make some treats and everyone will get to take some home for the holidays!

Please follow all the directions carefully. Complete everything in the step before moving on to the next step.

Step 1: Click here to watch a video about how to bake cupcakes.

Step 2: Think about your family traditions around the holidays. Traditions are something that you do every year. When you think of one, click here to add it to our class Padlet on traditions. Feel free to add a nice comment to another person's as well!

Step 3: You're ready to get the packet from the back counter. Open up to the back of the first page. Your first task is to create an invitation to the cookie exchange. It has the list of all the things you'll need to include on the invite such as day, time, number of people. It's important to make sure to ask your guest to bring 3 different types of cookies/treats with to the exchange. This must be on your invite somewhere. You can use the paper provided or you can use the computers to make your invitation. Turn this into Mrs. Blonigen's pink basket when you are done. Don't forget to put your name on the front of the packet! Enjoy!
